Rescue Me ID: 17-11-11-00001Quincy (male)

Scottish Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation. Quincy is an 8 year old Scottish terrier mix who was rescued from a high kill shelter in California where he was out of time and in danger of being euthanized. We stepped in to get him out of there along with his friend Kuma. We were told that Kuma and Quincy were bonded, so we committed to finding them a forever home together. However, after monitoring them for several weeks at our doggie daycare facility, it's clear that they aren't attached to each other. Quincy walks well ... (Read More)on a leash and loves to explore. Quincy is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heart worm negative. He gets along well with other dogs. We haven't had him around cats yet, so we're not sure what he thinks of them. All of our rescue dogs will need work on house and obedience training. Quincy is ready to meet his loving forever family! He has an adoption fee of $500. **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-06-00358Andrew & Lohdi (male)

Scottish Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

YES, I'M AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!*** Andrew and Lohdi are a sweet bonded pair looking for their forever home together. Andrew is an 11 year old Scottish terrier who weighs 42 pounds and his buddy Lohdi is a 9 year old terrier mix who weighs 40 pounds. Lohdi is the pack leader and Andrew relies on him, so they must be adopted together. They both get along great with other dogs. We haven't had them around cats or children, so we're not sure what they think of them. There was a listing online for a Scottie needing ... (Read More)a home so one of our volunteers reached out and spoke to their previous owner. Unfortunately, the previous owner's husband had passed away and she could no longer care for these two charming boys. She had people lined up to adopt Andrew the Scottie, but it didn't work out and we said of course we would take him into our rescue. She also asked if we would we take his friend as well. When we heard that they were bonded, we promised not separate them and to find them a loving home together. We had these two lovebugs picked up and brought to our vets. We soon discovered that both dogs had masses that had to be removed immediately and they desperately needed to be groomed. Poor Andrew had several masses removed near his anus and one under his belly. Lohdi also had to have a mass removed. Their masses were sent away for biopsies and came back benign. This silly affectionate pair is ready to find the loving forever home they deserve. Like all rescue dogs, they will need house training and obedience training. Andrew & Lohdi have an adoption fee of $1000. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Rescue Me ID: 17-09-27-00004Maise & Coco(Bonded) (female)

Scottish Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

YES, WE'RE AVAILABLE! Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!****** Maise & Coco are a bonded pair. These 13 year old girls are full of life and still have lots of love left to give. We received a message on facebook that asked for our help with these two sweethearts. The young girl's mother died & she could not keep them, so of course we did not want these two sweethearts to end up in the shelter, so we helped them out. Maise & Coco are very bonded and they have to be adopted together. They are 13 years old, have never been separated and ... (Read More)we will not allow them to be adopted to a home where they will be separated. They have never known another home besides the one they have been in for 13 years, and are currently in a foster home with two other scotties. Maise is super sweet 21.2lb scottie. Once she warms up to you, she is very loving and likes attention. She loves being petted on and getting affection, but she sometimes gets a little scared if you approach from behind. She will also turn and nip a little when you pick her up, so we think they might have had stairs or pet furniture so they may have not been picked up often. She definitely has the scottie temperament if she is in the mood! It would be good if she went to a home that has the time to make them the center of attention(these girls will eat it up!). They enjoy being with other dogs that are mellow and low in energy, they get along well with the foster's other dogs. Maise also enjoys being outside and have a yard to investigate, they really love being outside and get a lot of energy to run around in the grass! She also doesn't seem to be a heavy barker. We also just discovered that Maise has cushings & she will be on vetoryl for the remainder of her life. the cost for the treatment of this will be approximately $50 per month. Coco is an 18.2lb doxie love that also enjoys all of your attention. She has a very good appetite, and as such she is a little overweight, but with time and attention she can be back to a normal weight. Even though she is on the larger size, she still has got some moves and energy to run around the backyard with Maise! We also think that Coco may not had much experience getting picked up, as she yelps when you pick her up, even if she is asking for it or asking for help up on furniture. Other than that she is not a large barker. Coco is such a little dear though, she wants nonstop attention and will put her head under your hand until she tires you out. She prefers to be right next to you at all times, you can definitely see she is a genuine lap dog. We took them to our vet and got them all fixed up, unfortunately they needed a lot of work done, over $1800 worth. They are getting healthy again with us, as Maise got updated on her shots, chipped, had to get an exploratory surgery to see if she was spayed(she was), she needed a dental & polish, along with 9 teeth removed. Coco needed to be spayed, she was actually in heat when we got her at her 13 years of age. She also received a dental, with 5 teeth removed. Coco also had a mass removal, and we got her updated on her shots, chipped, and she was also treated for a bad ear infection. Like most dogs in our rescue, Maise will need work on potty training. Maise & Coco have an adoption fee of $950 and they MUST be adopted together. They are a bonded pair and never far from each other at all times. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption.     Scottish Terriers are usually used as pets, but were originally working dogs bred to hunt animals in their dens. The first Scottish Terriers were bred around the turn of the eighteenth century in Scotland. Scotties are often groomed with long hair covering their legs, making them appear to be very close to the ground.
