|Rescue Me ID: 16-04-20-00228Bree in Inman, SC (female)|
Date into Rescue: 1/15/2015 Reason for being in rescue: owner surrender/couldn't care for Foster location: Merrie in Inman, SC Special Needs? sensitive skin Weight: Height: Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? no What am I like? Bree is a total love bug. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves her human companions. When she arrived at CPR, she was almost completely bald on her backside, her skin was in terrible shape. CPR also noticed that perhaps throughout her life she may have had many unchecked ear infections that have left her ears 'cauliflowered'. Since being with us, we feel she is almost completely deaf. She may have a tiny amount of hearing but again it isn't much, if any. She loves her foster brothers and sisters. They aid her as her ears, especially when outside. She looks to them not only as playmates, but as her guides as well. She is a precious girl who thoroughly enjoys being outside in the sunshine. She will sit nicely or her favorite is to roll around on her back! When she does this we say she is doing her pig impression as she snorts as smiles. We have only heard her bark once, ever. Bree does not particularly like being in a crate. She sleeps well on her own bed and will on occasion lay with us for snuggles. She does love attention. She will direct you when she has not been petted enough with gentle nudging. Her diet must be grain free and she gets yogurt everyday.(She does expect a small piece of cheese everyday as her treat.) Bree is bathed every 10-12 days with oatmeal shampoo. She is great with bathing and grooming, with exception of her nails. She does not like her feet touched, especially with clippers in hand. Bree has done excellent in our home. She lets us know when she needs to go out to potty. She has a soulful face and kindness exudes from her eyes. If Bree chooses you as her family expect great loyalty and tons of love. She has definitely changed our lives in the short time she has been with us. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: senior Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Scottish Terrier Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Scottish Terrier, or Scottie, is a small, typically black, bearded Terrier. Scotties are bold, winsome dogs that are bursting with personality. Scotties are known for being rather temperamental and changeable. Scottish Terriers are willful but also sensitive to harsh training. Obedience training should start early and be consistent and kind. Scotties make good companions for families with older kids. A Scottish Terrier can live in an apartment with enough exercise.
