|Rescue Me ID: 15-02-02-00211Burton (male)|
Burton is an 8 year old, wheaten colored, male Scottish Terrier. He comes to us from a family who was overwhelmed with having three young children and two dogs. Burton has a big personality, needs to be somewhere that he can have the necessary time devoted to him and where he can get the exercise he needs to be happy. He did have all that before the children came along and then priorities changed. We'd like to stack the cards in his favor once again and find him a home where he will be the king. He has had his fill with young children, so we are looking for an adult only home this time. He loves to walk and get out and about. As a matter of fact, he loves to be outside as much as is possible, so someone with a fenced yard would be ideal for him to enjoy hanging out in. He is not a dog for a first time owner or non-Terrier experienced adopter. We hope someone who is home enough to spend that extra time with Burt will be interested in this beautiful, big guy. He's healthy and neutered, up to date on his vaccines, heartworm/lyme tested and just had his teeth cleaned. His bloodwork is perfect. We do strongly believe that Burton should be an only dog in his ideal home. He's very friendly with people, he's fun and does want your attention and affection. If you are interested in Burton, please contact Erica Cerny at firstname.lastname@example.org or 973-361-6790. Burt's foster location is NY/Catskills. We adopt our dogs out within a reasonable driving distance from the NY/NJ Metro Area. (Less)

Scottish Terrier Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Scottish Terrier, or Scottie, is a small, typically black, bearded Terrier. Scotties are bold, winsome dogs that are bursting with personality. Scotties are known for being rather temperamental and changeable. Scottish Terriers are willful but also sensitive to harsh training. Obedience training should start early and be consistent and kind. Scotties make good companions for families with older kids. A Scottish Terrier can live in an apartment with enough exercise.
